The First Operational Year is now Behind Us!

The First Operational Year is now Behind Us!

As the year 2024 closes its end, and we look back to our first operational year, we can only state that it was a good start! May the 2025 be even better for us and those around us!

To memorize the OCRICOM‘s highlights of 2024, we created a short photo series to share:

  • Figure 1.
  1. Activities: We participated in a few relevant events in 2024, such as Optics and Photonics Days in May by Photonics Finland, Tampere Startup Day in June arranged by Platform6, and ALD/ALE 2024 conference in August by AVS.
  2. Coatings: In 2024 we deposited a bit over 200 optical coatings ranging from antireflection coatings and single layer coatings to high reflectance mirrors and filters. A good start to continue on.
  3. Collaborations: Alone we’re not much, so starting collaborations with great partners was one of the key merits of 2024. OCRICOM’s roots are at Tampere University and optoelectronics research centre (ORC), and on top working closely with them, we started to work together with two cutting edge equipment manufacturers, namely SwissCluster and I-Photonics, to cover any thin film deposition method needs that comes to mind with optical coatings. We also joined two important organizations for us: Platform6 and Photonics Finland, to participate and contribute in the relevant channels.
  4. Office: What started as an empty office, where one can leave his stuff for the day, is now a comfy workspace for two with the relevant office setting and ever increasing atmosphere. O-P is also still alive and kicking to bring some freshness to the workdays.
  5. Research and Development: And last, but not least, is the research and development we managed to go through already in 2024, that gives us a good path to follow in 2025. We got some promising results with our in-situ pre-treatment processes and the development of dual ion beam sputtered nitride coatings progressed nicely.

We wish you all a successful new year 2025 and hope to be in touch in any of your optical coating or thin film needs!
